ABOUT

The Turkey Day Dash, started in 2004 by the Southeast Ventura County YMCA, attracts nearly 3,000 runners to the streets around California Lutheran University. In 2025, proceeds from the event will be divided among three local nonprofits: Ventura County Council of Boy Scouts, the Kiwanis Club of Thousand Oaks Foundation and Hospice of the Conejo. Last year’s Dash raised over $63,000 for charity. The event pays special tribute to Zack Zernik, a lifelong "Dasher" who died tragically in January 2023 while climbing in open space outside Newbury Park.
